Components of Amsler Polar Planimeter:

Polar Planimeter is the instrument which is used to measure area of irregular shape. we can easily calculate area of regular shapes like square, rectangle or triangle etc. simply by using the mathematical available formula. But to calculate the area of irregular figure, we use Amsler Polar Planimeter or Digital Planimeter.

Various Components of Amsler Polar Planimeter are:

1) Hing Part: used to connect Tracing arm and Anchor arm

2) Tracing pin: Used to trace the boundary of the figure in clockwise direction.

3) Tracing Arm

4) Anchor Arm

5) Drum or Weight.

6) Clamps

7) Slow motion Screw

Amsler polar Planimeter Gives reading in Four Digits eg. 4.375

8) Dial: used to take first digit of reading

9) Wheel: Used to take second and third digit of reading

10) Vernier: Used to take Fourth digit of reading

11) Magnifier: To Magnify the reading
