 level surface:

 Any surface which is parallel to the mean spheroidal surface of the earth is called as level surface.

Level surface is always curved.

eg. The water surface of a still lake is considered as level surface.

Level Line:

The line which lies on the level surface is called as level line.

Level line is perpendicular to the direction of gravity at all points.
